Stranger Things Day 2021

If you're a fan of Stranger Things, you already know what anniversary today commemorates. November 6, 1983 - the day that Will Byers first went missing in Hawkins, Indiana. And so begins the wild and...well, strange tale that is Stranger Things.

Netflix and followers of the show don't let the significance of this (fictional) event escape unnoticed. Starting at midnight, Pacific Time, you can follow along on Stranger Things social channels. At 7 a.m., they'll drop some teasers about the location of season 4.

More hints and reveals will come all day long. At 9 a.m., you can see the first official map of Hawkins. At 11, they'll reveal some Stranger Things 4 episode titles.

Creators and collectors of the show will share how they like to celebrate their own "Stranger Things Day." This begins with a special spotlight feature at 2 p.m. However, it's worth noting that Netflix already suggests waffle parties, character cosplay, binge-watching previous seasons, fan art show and tell, and playing DND as acceptable inclusions.

In stores, you can find new Stranger Things merchandise available. This includes Walmart, Target, Amazon. In-person locations include Footlocker, Snipes, and Zalando. Netflix says this merchandise includes toys and collectibles (Bandai, Funko, and more). They'll also reveal new Champion brand clothing featuring "Hawkins High" apparel.

The official Netflix shop will also have some new goods for fans to purchase. Collectibles, apparel, a special edition Elegorgon statuette, and more. There are even some limited-edition Stranger Things cereals!

A new Dark Horse comic can be found at your local comic store. It's a Stranger Things holiday-themed book. And we might get a special look online at a brand new comic series called Stranger Things: Erica the Great! The first book is set for release on November 23.

It seems like a lot of the activity will unfold on the official Twitter feed and YouTube channel, so tune in there if you want to keep up with it all. You can also check out Canva for a bunch of new Stranger Things templates. These templates are for all the major social platforms - you can get something for Tik Tok, Instagram, even your Zoom video chat background. Messenger will also release some new stickers and filters to mark the day.

Eat some waffles, sing the theme song, take a refresher on the first three seasons....how are you going to celebrate Stranger Things day? No matter what you do, make the most of it - we probably have at least a few months before Season 4 starts (it's slated for an 'unknown 2022' release).
